McDougle's Last Stand

Arguably one of the biggest busted draft picks in Eagles history could go down as Jerome McDougle. He was drafted in 2003 as the 15th overall pick out of Miami. This guy has been given more second chances than anyone can imagine. The Eagles are bringing McDougle into camp this year and giving him what is probably his final shot at making the squad. The defensive end position is very deep this season for the birds, and McDougle's careless decisions in the past have not helped his cause in gaining a roster spot.
Reports out of Lehigh have shown McDougle is making progress. He is working with the second team defense and is faring very well against the first team.
"He's stepped up," head coach Andy Reid said last week. "He looks strong and fast and quick. I think he's playing very good right now. We want him to maintain that. And, he's going against the [first-team offense]. It's a good gauge of what he's all about right now and it looks like he's doing OK."
